VAT checker - User Guide

InfoThis guide is for end-users. If you need instruction on installation and configuration, please refer to the Admin Guide

Step 1: Accessing the VAT Checker

The VAT Checker is accessible from a CRM module such as an Account or a Lead. To use it, navigate to the Zoho CRM record for which you want to verify VAT information.

Step 2: Verifying the VAT Number

The VAT Checker verifies the entered VAT number. If the number is invalid, an error message is displayed immediately. It's important to correct the information to ensure the accuracy of the data recorded in Zoho CRM.

Step 3: Updating values in CRM

The VAT Checker interface displays a comparison between the values of fields in Zoho CRM and the corresponding data retrieved from the VIES (VAT Information Exchange System) API. The "Update Status" indicates whether the VAT number is valid according to the VIES API. For each field, if the value in Zoho CRM differs from the data obtained from the VIES API, a checkbox becomes available in the "Update Values?" column, giving the user the option to synchronize the CRM data with the validated information from VIES. Checking these boxes and clicking the "Update CRM" button will modify only those fields where inconsistencies are detected and authorized

Step 4: Modification History

After the update, the record's modification history reflects the changes made. Review the history to confirm that the data validated by the VAT Checker has been correctly integrated into Zoho CRM. This step helps to guarantee the consistency and reliability of the information.
